Cashless + Reimbursement· TPA-Based· Specific Documents for Special Benefits
Check NPMPP policy schedule for TPA name and contacts. For planned admission: 72 hours prior with hospital name, diagnosis, and proposed treatment. For emergency: within 24 hours of admission. "Cashless Facility available at Network Hospitals only through TPA." Pre-negotiated package rates at network hospitals for specific surgeries — request PPN rate if applicable.
Hospital insurance desk submits cashless pre-authorisation with diagnosis, proposed treatment, estimated cost. TPA verifies coverage and issues pre-authorisation letter. If DM/HTN add-on active: declare it — 10% or 25% co-pay on DM/HTN-related claim portion. At PPN hospitals: sub-limits waived for listed procedure packages.
Pay bills at discharge. Collect all: discharge summary, original bills, investigation reports, prescriptions, Claim Form Part A & Part B. Submit to TPA within 15 days of discharge. "The Company shall settle or reject a claim, as the case may be, within 30 days from the date of receipt of last necessary document."
"For claim under Section 1.3.2 (Reinstatement of Sum Insured due to Road Traffic Accident) in addition to documents listed above (as applicable), police investigation report, confirming the road traffic accident." If RTA claim exhausts the SI: submit police FIR/MLC confirming it was a road traffic accident. The reinstatement then applies for subsequent hospitalisations in the same year.
"For claim under Section 2.1.11 (Medical Emergency Reunion) in addition to documents listed above (as applicable), confirmation of the need of family member from attending medical practitioner." Medical certificate from treating doctor confirming the need for a family member's presence. Plus travel tickets and boarding passes for the family member who travelled to be with the patient.
Second medical opinion: submit the treating doctor's diagnosis report confirming the major illness, plus the second specialist's consultation invoice and report. Doctor home visit and nursing care: submit visiting doctor's prescription/visit notes plus nursing service invoices during the post-hospitalisation period. Keep all receipts from the discharge date forward for the post-hospitalisation period.
