Coverage Under Pumpset Insurance
The policy is structured in three sections plus an optional add-on. Select the sections you need — or take the comprehensive plan for maximum protection.
How Claims Are Calculated
For partial damage: actual repair cost minus applicable depreciation on parts, minus compulsory deductible. For total loss: Sum Insured (IDV) minus deductible. Reinstatement Value basis: no depreciation applied on claims.
For total loss by theft: Sum Insured (IDV) minus compulsory deductible is settled. Police FIR and a non-traceable certificate from police are mandatory. Partial theft of components: actual replacement cost minus depreciation.
Settled at actual repair / replacement cost of the failed motor or mechanical component, subject to terms of the add-on endorsement. Wilful neglect, improper use, or lack of maintenance are excluded even under the add-on.
If the declared SI is less than the actual market / reinstatement value at the time of claim, the condition of average applies — your claim is reduced proportionally. Always insure at 100% of current value.
| Parameter | Fire Damage (Electric Pumpset) | Theft (Diesel Pumpset — Total Loss) | Flood Damage (Submersible Pump) |

| Claim Payable | ₹ 15,700 | ₹ 49,500 | ₹ 21,500 |

Policy Conditions
The following 12 conditions are binding under the Kisan Agricultural Pumpset Insurance Policy. Non-compliance may result in claim rejection or policy voiding.
The pumpset must be accurately described in the policy schedule — make, model, type (electric/diesel), motor capacity (HP/KW), serial / motor number, and installation location declared correctly at inception.
Sum Insured = agreed value at inception (market value or reinstatement value basis) — cannot be altered during the policy period.
Any addition, modification, or replacement of pumpset components must be declared to the insurer — undeclared modifications void coverage for those components.
The insured must take all reasonable steps to protect the pumpset — adequate pump house, weatherproofing, and security measures are expected. Failure may void claims.
In case of loss or damage, notify insurer and Probitas immediately. Do not authorise repairs without prior insurer survey / approval for claims above the applicable threshold.
In case of theft or burglary, a Police FIR must be lodged immediately. FIR copy is mandatory for claim — and a non-traceable certificate for total theft claims.
The pumpset must be used only for declared agricultural irrigation purposes. Use for any other purpose without declaration at inception voids the cover.
The insurer reserves the right to inspect the pumpset at any time during the policy period to verify declared details and condition.
Subrogation: on settlement of any claim, all rights of recovery against third parties (e.g. electricity board for surge damage) are automatically transferred to the insurer.
Under-insurance: if the SI is less than the actual market / reinstatement value, the condition of average applies — claim is reduced proportionally.
The Mechanical/Electrical Breakdown add-on does NOT cover breakdown resulting from wilful neglect, improper use, overloading, or lack of maintenance.
Renewal: SI is reassessed at each renewal — depreciation applied progressively. Fresh photos / inspection may be required for older pumpset units.
How to File a Claim
Follow these four steps for smooth and timely settlement. Probitas experts assist you at every stage — call 022 4302 0000.
Notify Probitas (022 4302 0000) and the insurer as soon as loss, damage, or theft occurs. For theft — lodge a Police FIR immediately. Do not authorise repairs before survey.
Insurer appoints a surveyor to inspect the damage — do not repair before approval. For theft: obtain Police FIR + non-traceable certificate from police once recovery time has elapsed.
Submit: Claim Form, Policy doc, FIR copy (theft/burglary), surveyor report, repair bills / estimates, pumpset make / model / serial number details, photographs of damage, and bank details.
Fire / allied / accidental damage: repair cost minus depreciation. Theft: IDV minus deductible. Mechanical breakdown (if add-on opted): repair / replacement cost as per terms. All minus compulsory deductible.
